Your Councillors

A casual vacancy has arisen for a parish councillor on Little Leigh Parish Council. We welcome anyone who would like to volunteer their time to contribute to the social, environmental and economic well being of Little Leigh. The Parish Council needs a range of skills to work as a team in order to make decisions which maintain all aspects of the parish’s environment and for the benefit of all parishioners. Anyone who can bring enthusiasm and a positive attitude will be welcomed.

Being a councillor does not involve a huge commitment of time, meetings are held in the village hall every two months. The Parish council acts as a conduit for matters of local government that affect our village, the setting of the Parish element of the Council Tax precept, how that money is spent and to lobby for local issues (eg foot paths, speed limits, facilities and services). Councillors are informed of local issues, including planning applications and can make input to the process based on our Village Design Statement.

Please see for more details. If you are interested please apply in writing to the Clerk (details below) with a brief summary of any particular skills or experience you think are relevant. The closing date for applications is 8 Ocotber 2021.
